"I'm going to show him what little girls are made of
Gunpowder and lead"

Gunpowder and Lead - Miranda Lambert

Ammo was baptized by fire as we found ourselves a dog short, and she was forced to step up to the plate, at 10 months old, in a lead dog role.  She did not disappoint.  She was incredibly smart with a ton of heart and was capable of handling anything the stock could throw at her.  She had lots of speed and stopping power.  Ammo circled tight when settling cattle, and was a straight up head dog when driving.  Ammo had a good nose, and a medium to long range hunting style.  She was completely silent on track until it got real hot and then she let you know where she was at.  Ammo retired from competition with champion points in multiple working events with the NALC and the CHDA, and was a Tree Dog Champion, a Show Champion, a Champion of Show Champions and a Grand Champion of Show Champions, making her a Quad Grand Champions of Champions, with the NALC.  She was also a UKC conformation Grand Champion, and a Canadian Rare Breed conformation champion and was retired from the show ring with a Best In Specialty Show win, 2 NALC Reserve Best Female of Show wins, and an NALC Best Female of Show win.  Needless to say we were very pleased with this little girl.  She embodied the phrase "more than just a pretty face".

Ammo was a once in a lifetime dog.  We may say that about a lot of our dogs, because they are in their own ways, but she truly changed the course of our lives.  We were just young kids getting started in life when we were offered a pup as a wedding present from Tori Earls.  We spent the next 13 years making jokes about an off handed comment that was made regarding red genetics being weaker.  If that were true, Ammo took offence to it and spent the rest of her life proving it wrong.  She has taken us on a hell of a ride, and we would not be where we are today without her persistent input - she earned the nickname "Oh...ME!" honestly.

We will miss her massive personality, her unending heart and her skill.  We also miss her persnickety attitude and unquenchable thirst for attention.  Git'em Stinky Dawg.

With the NALC Ammo has 69 champion points in b-bay, 44 points in treeing and all the requirements for her TD CH title, 42 points in conformation and all the requirements for her SH CH title and she has her CH of SH CH's and GR CH of SH CH's titles.  With the CHDA Ammo has 9 champion points.
