Tribute
During a conversation with an Old Time Breeder the comment was made that they find it amusing to hear all these newbies
coming into the breed to "improve it".  The old bloodlines were formed out of necessity and utility.  Dogs were bred because they
performed, all the time, every time.  Dogs that did not perform up to the expectation level that was placed on them were not bred,
period.  There are many breeders out there who still have the necessity that those old timers had and whose expectations and
breeding decisions are based solely on work.  If you find the right dogs, breeders and bloodlines, there should be no room for
improvement.  Individuals may be improved upon, but the bloodline as a whole should be solid as a rock, continually producing
exactly what you want to see in your dogs.

Every dedicated breeder has a bloodline that they look up to and hope to do right by, and we are no exception.  The
Happy
Hollow
and J Cross bloodlines have withstood the test of time and trial.  It is these bloodlines that we gladly and gratefully build
our own on, with no intention of "improving" them but to attempt to carry on what these dedicated individuals have done for the
breed.  By taking bloodlines based on utility they have maintained not only the working ability, versatility and functionality of the
breed, but have produced dogs that are pleasing to look at and a joy to live with.  Believing a bloodline is bulletproof is a sure
fire way to end up kennel blind, but it is our opinion that you while you may find bloodlines as good as these ones, you will not
find one better.

So thank you Tori Earls and Jimmy Thomas for never making excuses and for doing all the things necessary to produce
exceptional quality.  You have given a pair of young, up-starting cattle ranchers a chance to build on a truly great foundation.
We cannot display to you how much it means to us to have been able to earn your knowledge and your trust.
