Welcome!

The name Cross Check comes from Kenzie. When you ask her if she's "ready", she runs at you, jumps up and bounces off of
you with her front paws...like a cross check.

We invite you to take a tour around Cross Check Catahoulas and learn what we're all about. We hope you like what you see

Cross Check Catahoulas is a high performance kennel located in mid-western Ontario, Canada with a focus on producing
exceptional working Catahoulas. Our need for working cow dogs is the sole purpose of our breeding program as our dogs
are used for gathering and penning cattle on our cow/calf operation as well as some custom penning for our neighbours.
Everything else we do with the dogs is a bonus. We breed only proven working stock in an effort to produce a versatile
Catahoula with extreme working ability, endurance and intelligence, an easy going temperament, and excellent functional
conformation. We are a National Association of Louisiana Catahoulas (NALC) certified breeder. All of our dogs are dual
registered with the NALC and the United Kennel Club (UKC). To learn more about our breeding program, please see our

We also enjoy showing and trialing our dogs with the UKC, Canadian Rare Breed Club, Catahoula Hog Dog Association
(CHDA) and NALC. Our Catahoulas are pointed in multiple working events and in conformation. Be sure to check out each
dog's awards page to see how they're doing, but please keep in mind that our working dogs and our showing/trialing dogs are
one and the same. If they don't earn us money in the field, then we sure aren't wasting any on them in the ring.
